First almost painted projects

During the last two evenings I painted two miniatures. One DarkElf Corsair and One Ax Ork. The colour scheme for the elf is the same I used over a decade ago. For the Orc I am testing a kind of steppe/desert nomad orc coulour scheme. Armour, helmet and shield is bronze, axes are iron. I also did not want to go the usual green but a kind of dark brown leather colour for the orc.

Ax Ork - His home is the steppes with scarce resources so Bronze is used for the armour but the choppa must be Iron to be able to cut through "the Civilized peoples" chainmail and plate armours.

A Dark Elf Corsair painted in a the same colours as my early Dark Elf army, Front vieiw

Orks say "We need paint!"

Hi,

I started this new blog to show my reinvented interest in collecting and painting 28 mm fantasy/sci-fi figures (or are they called miniatures?)

About ten years ago in my early twenties, my interest in Warhammer Fantasy faded and I was left with boxes filled with unpainted miniatures. We have been playing some DnD (Dungenons&Dragons) with my friends and that partly reignited my interest as we play with 28mm miniatures.

My goal is to collect cool figures with no specific bias toward any manufacturer. In the beginning it may be a bit Games workshop heavy as I have loads of old miniatures. I am still waiting for my order of a new paint set (Army painter) as my old 15 year old paint pots have dried up (silly Citadel paint points with the black screw on hat). Meanwhile I bought my first new miniatures in a while and assembled them. They are Mantic Kings of War AX Orks. I never collected any orks, so I wanted to try that. Below is a picture of Orks demanding paint "Paintz uz, or we stompa you!" Love the small Snottlings that came with the kit. I will try to limit text and have lots of pictures in the future. Well until next time!
